Dale’S birthday Win

Birthday glory for Dale ‘The Kraken’ Kingston.

On Saturday, 26th February, marine biologist and assistant coach at Twin Tigers Martial Arts and Boxing club, Dale ‘The Kraken’ Kingston emerged from the deep south (west).  Dale, with his corner team, coach Paul Quick, Sak ‘The Slayer’ and Mo, travelled to Banbury near Oxford to battle for the British Diamond Fight Light Heavyweight title following a gruelling fight camp. With second to none dedication and the support of the Twin Tigers team and TrainWright strength and conditioning, Dale met his opponent, Irish born Ciarain Shanahan, head on.

The fight began with Ciarain, from Fensom’s Gym, St. Albans, London, coming out of his corner fast and furious. Dale weathered the storm for a couple of rounds and began to navigate his way in round 3 with a barrage of elbows and knees. In round 4, after taking stock, the kraken released with a storm of knees and elbows.  In the final 5th round, he took the wind out of the sails of his opponent with a well-placed knee, resulting in a standing 8 count.   The judges awarded the battle unanimously to Dale ‘The Kraken’ Kingston to a standing ovation from the crowd followed by rapturous birthday celebration singing!  To top it off, following a huge fight card of 26 bouts, Dale and Ciarain won fight of the night for their performance.
