Rules and Guidelines following COVID-19

Firstly, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your loyalty and support throughout the past four months. It has been a challenging time for many but, as the lockdown relaxes we are now in the position where we were able to re-open on the 25th July 2020. However as you will realise, this is only made possible following a review of our Health & Safety policy in light of the COVID-19 Government guidelines. This will result in some changes in the way in which the gym operates to ensure we 'reduce risk to the lowest reasonably practicable level by taking preventative measures' for the safety of our staff and students.

Government Guidance - Sports & Gym Leisure Facilities

When are open as of the 25th July, 2020, Twin Tigers Martial Arts and Boxing Club will operate as a member’s only gym. All past members will be given the opportunity to reinstate their memberships prior to this. All students that are currently paying their Direct Debit are already considered members. This is for classes only and does not apply to 1-1 personal training.

New members will be able to join as we will regularly update our classes and will review them as Government restrictions are further relaxed.

All classes must be booked in advance and 1-1s will be by appointment only. Please can you ensure that you arrive on time as we will be unable to extend any sessions if you are running late. If you need to cancel, please give 24hrs notice. Children’s classes will be 50 minutes long to allow staff time to clean in between one class leaving and for the next arrive without overlapping.

Please arrive at the front of the building in the High Street and form a queue, leaving a 2m gap between households. Please respect The Spar, Holland & Barrett and their customers when doing so. A member of staff will inform you when the previous class has left, and you can enter the gym.

Please can all students arrive dressed in their kit, with water bottles and towels. It is recommended that changing rooms are not used and own drinks are supplied to reduce contamination risk.

A member of staff will use a non-contact thermometer to take your temperature. Anyone displaying a temperature of 38* + will be asked not to enter and recommended to seek medical advice if displaying any other symptoms.

Only one person/household to use the stairs at a time, where ventilation is restricted, and observe our one way system, exiting at the rear of the building.

Please use the hand sanitizer that is provided upon arrival and check in.

Place bags in Zone 1 where the first half of the session will take place.

To enable us to maximise the number of students we can train safely, there is a maximum recommended amount of people allowed per floor space. With this in mind, it is asked that 1x parent/carer brings the student to class and waits for the duration of the class outside the gym. Exceptions will be made, for parent/carers with children in separate classes for example, but they will be required to wear a mask for the duration and observe spacing recommendations.

The second half of the class will take place in zone 2, to the rear of the gym, allowing staff to clean zone 1 for the next class. Bags, bottles and towels should be brought with the students to this area. Here the focus will be on bag work. When finished, the students will be escorted by a member of staff down the fire exit stairs and through the Spar loading bay, across the road to Kings Street car park. Please be ready waiting here and do not park in the loading bay.

Staff will wear masks/visors as appropriate and hand sanitisers, anti-bacterial spray and paper towel will be available. A deep clean will happen daily, followed by regular cleaning following equipment use.

We thank you for your patience and commitment to keeping these safety measures in place for the wellbeing of our students and staff and look forward to seeing you all soon.
